Andrew Western, MP for Stretford and Urmston, has announced the winner of his first ever Christmas card design competition.

Kamran Broun, age 10, from Delamere School is the winner and his design has been printed onto the front of Andrew’s Christmas card. Andrew will be sending the card to hundreds of constituents, local businesses, schools, voluntary organisations and community and faith groups across the constituency.  

Designs from four runners up and a selection of other ‘highly commended’ entries from schools across Trafford, have also been printed within the card.  

Over 500 children entered the competition, and they have all been sent a certificate for taking part. Kamran was presented with a certificate and a small prize during the school day. 

The competition was sponsored by Therme UK.  

Andrew said: “I’d like to thank Therme UK for sponsoring my first ever Christmas card design competition.

“We received over 500 entries and the standard was really high. It was clear that a lot of time and effort had gone into each design. Kamran’s picture was the clear winner; it was bright, vibrant and stood out amongst the other entries.

“I want to thank everyone that took part in the competition and wish all of my constituents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
