Andrew Western, MP for Stretford and Urmston, has launched his first Christmas card design competition, with the support of Therme Group.
This is the first time that Andrew has organised a competition of this kind and he has written to every school in Stretford and Urmston, inviting pupils to take part. He’d love as many children in the constituency as possible to take part.
The winning design will appear on the front of the Christmas card that Andrew will send to his constituents this year. Designs by runners up will also be printed inside the card.
Andrew plans to send the card out to hundreds of local people, businesses, voluntary organisations, community groups, faith groups and schools.
He will also send certificates to every child that enters the competition and the overall winner will be presented with a small prize and certificate.
Andrew said: “Since I became the MP last December, I’ve been asked on numerous occasions if I plan to launch a Christmas card competition. I know this is something that my predecessor – Kate Green – used to organise and local children loved taking part. I’m happy that I’ve been able to launch my own competition and I hope that every child within the constituency will consider entering.
“I also want to say a huge thank you to Therme Group, who are sponsoring the competition. Without their help, it wouldn’t be possible.”

Any child or young person living in Andrew’s constituency is welcome to take part.
Entries should be scanned and sent to andrew.western.mp@parliament.uk by no later than Friday 10 November, 2023. Or, alternatively, you can post them to: Andrew Western MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.
