Local MP opens Stretford Post Office at permanent location

Earlier today, Andrew Western officially opened Stretford Post Office at its new permanent location (Unit 123, Chester Road, Stretford).

Stretford Post Office had been based inside the WHSmith store in the shopping mall until the shop closed in June.
Since July, Postmaster Arif Matadar operated a temporary branch inside Stretford Mall, until the branch could move into its permanent home.
Andrew Western, the MP for Stretford and Urmston, said: “I know that residents and businesses alike are delighted to have a permanent Post Office in Stretford again. The whole shop looks great, and the bigger premises allow for a wide range of Post Office services to be available again.”
The new Post Office opening hours are 9am-6pm, Monday-Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday. This is an extra 13 hours of Post Office service a week than the temporary location had.
