Andrew Western, the MP for Stretford and Urmston, visited SUEZ’s Manchester Renew Hub in Trafford Park. Ruth Jones, Shadow Minister for Waste and Recycling, also came on the visit. They were there to attend the Policy Connect EPR roundtable.

The Renew Hub is the UK’s largest reuse facility. The site allows businesses and charities to run ‘repair pods’. The scheme has also given local people and volunteers the chance to learn skills for the green economy.

Andrew Western said: “It was a fascinating and inspiring visit, seeing items that may have gone to landfill be turned into useful and beautiful objects which can be sold to raise money for charitable causes. I was also impressed with the employment and wellbeing schemes that run from the hub, providing skills and support to people throughout Trafford.”

The Renew Hub has several shops that sell all sorts of items, ranging from bikes to chairs and children’s toys. Click here to find out more.
