Yesterday Andrew Western visited Old Trafford Bowling Club, alongside local councillors, to discuss the upkeep of the building.

The meeting was called after the pavilion was added to the National Heritage List for England, as a Grade-II-listed building.

The Old Trafford Bowling Club was built in 1873 by a group of local butchers and merchants. The crown green were formally laid out in 1877, to designs by architect and surveyor John Bowden.

Andrew Western said: “I was delighted to heat that the Old Trafford Bowling Club pavilion had been added to the National Heritage List for England, as a Grade-II-listed building. It is important this cultural asset is maintained accordingly, so it was great to meet up with local councillors and the pavilion committee to discuss their plans to do this.”
