Andrew Western, the MP from Stretford and Urmston, is urging Partington residents to attend a meeting that’s been called to discuss proposed changes to fire response cover in Trafford.

The public is being consulted about the proposed changes, which have concerned local MP Andrew Western. The MP will be attending the meeting and he also plans to write to the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service to express his worries.

This community feedback meeting has been called to give the public the opportunity to ask questions and to raise personal concerns. The MP is urging as many people as possible to attend.

Andrew Western said: “I am concerned about these proposals, because if the consultation goes through in its current form, then Partington and Carrington will have the worst fire response fire times in Greater Manchester.

“There’s a community feedback meeting being held at Partington Community Centre, at 6pm, on Friday 7 July. If you can, please go along and share your views.”

If you’re unable to make the meeting, but you’d still like your voice to be heard, you can respond to the consultation online by clicking on this link.

The consultation closes on Monday 24 July.
