Earlier today, Andrew Western, the MP for Stretford and Urmston, visited Wellacre Academy in Flixton. The purpose of the visit was to meet the Principal, Mrs Sharrock, and to sit down with a group of pupils that had some tough questions for their local MP.

During the visit, the pupils were very engaged and they’d prepared their questions ahead of time. They asked about an array of things; ranging from what Andrew finds difficult about being an MP, to the career path he took in order to be elected as an Member of Parliament.

Andrew Western said: “The students wanted to know all about my role as the MP for Stretford and Urmston. It’s always a privilege to hear the views and opinions of local young people and as ever, when I do such sessions like this, the questions were very tough indeed!”
