Cargill recently invited Andrew along to its Trafford Park-based site to discuss the company, as well as its future plans.

During the trip, Andrew found out about Cargill and how it operates within the food sector. Cargill produces sweeteners and wheat proteins in Trafford Park, as well as animal feed products and wheat gluten.

The group discussed policy issues, relating to health policy, decarbonisation, access to labour and the EU Retained Law Bill.

Andrew Western said: “I visited Trafford Park-based business Cargill, which to my surprise is the third largest privately-owned company in the world. I had a tour of the facility and we discussed concerns around deforestation and the work they are doing to contribute to the country’s net zero ambitions.”
