Andrew Western, MP for Stretford and Urmston, has expressed his delight that Partington’s Levelling Up bid has been successful.

A total of £18m has been allocated to Partington, to pay for the refurbishment of Partington Sports Village and Moss Lane Centre, as well as the creation of a health and wellbeing hub. There will also be services developed, particularly for young people, to help them into employment and to give them access to the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. It is one of more than 100 projects across the UK to receive a share of £2.1bn, to create jobs and boost economic growth.

Andrew Western said: “I was delighted to hear that the Partington Levelling Up bid has been successful. The bid was put forward under my leadership at Trafford Council, with the support of Kate Green when she was MP. I will continue to support the project as it takes shape.

“These projects will help reduce health inequalities and support constituents to move out of poverty, bringing much needed leisure investment to the area. I am really looking forward to seeing the benefits for the residents of Partington.”
